About
Who We Are
The Cornerstone is a non-denominational Christian ministry at Boise State University whose three primary goals are;
- Evangelism of seekers
- Discipleship of believers
- Maintaining spiritual unity within the body of believers
Doctrinally speaking we strive to be biblically based in all we do—theologically sound and morally pure. On primary theological issues we are consistent with historically evangelical orthodoxy, but we are fairly diverse on secondary matters because of legitimate differences between people. We strive to set an example in keeping “the main thing … the main thing” while respecting diversity within the body of Christ. This means that sometimes people have a little difficulty determining our theological biases. We believe this can be a good thing as we are all in seeking to grow in maturity.

What We Believe
We believe there is one God who is infinitely perfect, existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus Christ to be true God and in His incarnation to have been true man. He was born of the Virgin Mary, conceived by the Holy Spirit, died for our sins and was raised from the dead for our justification. He is now seated at the right hand of God in majesty, making intercession as our High Priest. He will come again to establish His kingdom of righteousness and peace. We believe the Old and New Testaments to be the infallible word of God, inerrant as originally given, verbally inspired by God and the complete and sufficient revelation of His will for man’s salvation and conduct. We believe man was originally created in the image of God. Through disobedience and self-centeredness he incurred both physical and spiritual death. Thus, all are now born with a sinful nature, separated from God and can be saved only through the atoning work of Jesus Christ. All who are unrepentant and unbelieving will be lost in a Christless eternity of conscious torment; for those who believe eternity will be spent in God’s presence, in His distinct joy and bliss. We believe the church consists of all those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. They join together for worship, prayer, fellowship, the proclamation of the Gospel and observance of the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe in the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ as both personal and visible. This is our blessed hope and serves as an incentive for holy living and faithful service. We believe in the Great Commission to proclaim the Gospel of our Lord to the uttermost parts of the earth.
What We Are
Place To Study & Hang Out With Friends:
Usually people come into Cornerstone just to “hang out” or study the college materials. We have many couches, tables & chairs for that very reason. We also have several public use computers and free wifi. The house rules are simple; make yourself comfortable*, help yourself to pop, coffee or water, and do try to clean up after yourself! (*We do discourage extreme levels of comfort such as “napping” & “couch hogging”.)
Discussion Groups & Bible Studies
During the school year, there might be six to twelve scheduled activities happening during the week at Cornerstone. These are either sponsored by us or by other campus groups and are open to anyone. Spontaneous discussions happen frequently — sometimes they are silly, sometimes they are serious. We encourage you to get to know others who are here and feel free to join any of the conversations. A wide variety of people hang out here. You will probably meet some new friends.
A Place To Talk
Maybe you just want to talk to someone about life issues? Perhaps to bounce some thoughts off someone about a situation in your life. Worldview or truth questions are always important, but your personal issues of today might be far more pressing than the big issues of tomorrow. Cornerstone is about being a place where people can talk openly and honestly and find encouraging, wise advice.
The Cornerstone Student Organization:
The Cornerstone student club is a university recognized student organization that was formed by students to help The Cornerstone fulfill its primary ministry goals by connecting The Cornerstone and its facility with students on the
